Plans for the next Rites of Passage!

Ahoj dear ROPpers,

Team ROP would like to sincerely apologise not only for the lack of update but also to inform the news that after much though we have decided there will be a slight change in our plans…

The 3rd Rites of Passage will no longer be in 2013 HOWEVER we will be back again in full force for 2014. Website re-vamp, photos of 2012 show, footage and confirmed dates for April 2014 will be announced in the very near future so please, pretty please stay tuned!

We thank you so much for your patience and hope that you all have a fabulous 2012! We promise the wait will be worth it!

Wow, time really does fly.. Humble apologies for the month long siesta folks! Team ROP have had to take some time out after the amazing weekend at the 2nd Rites of Passage Tattoo Convention & Arts Festival 2012! Thank you so much to EVERYONE for your support!

We will be back very soon with pictures (from several amazing photographers) & footage from the show, our site will also be getting a slight re-vamp and then its full steam ahead ~ 2013 here we come xx

dead cat. The dark, twisted surrealism that engulfs the Smallpox world marries
puppetry, mime, clowning and sideshow to create a mode of visual storytelling
that is intimate, poetic and grotesquely playful.

unfortunately we have received word that Victor Portugal will not be able to attend Rites of Passage this year due to visa complications. Victor has expressed his sincere apologies and we are working towards him attending for 2013.

..is a not to be missed free lecture in the seminar room with Dr Lars Krutak explores the meaning of tribal tattooing through the various techniques practiced over time while also focusing on the more supernatural functions of indigenous body marking through archival and more recent video footage taken from the Discovery Channel series ‘Tattoo Hunter.’

‘tattoo as i see it’ ~ jeff gogue seminar

I will share my approach to the artistry, design, and execution of my tattooing. I will also share some trade secrets I’ve developed over my career (technical tips, so to speak) I will also focus on how to honestly approach marketing and publicizing your work to develop a unique voice and style so as to be sought after as an influential tattooer and artist is this ever expanding field. I have accomplished many of my goals as an artist and would like to encourage others do to the same.
